CENTRAL VACUUM INSTALLATION COMPONENTS
Central Vacuum Pipe Adapters
Find central vacuum pipe adapters
and reducers for connecting different
tubing sizes, updating older systems
and completing new installations.
Whether you're replacing an outdated
central vacuum power unit or adapting
existing piping, the correct adapter
can help create a compatible
connection between components.
Some central vacuum systems manufactured
before 1980 used tubing that differs
from today's common 2-inch central
vacuum tubing standard. Adapters may
also be needed when connecting central
vacuum tubing to Schedule 40 plumbing
PVC or other piping configurations.
Always verify actual pipe dimensions
before selecting an adapter.
01
Connect Older Central Vacuum Systems
Adapt existing tubing from
older central vacuum
installations to compatible
modern components without
automatically replacing
the entire piping system.
02
Transition Between Pipe Types
Find adapters for connecting
central vacuum tubing with
different pipe sizes or
compatible plumbing PVC
configurations.
03
Match the Correct Dimensions
Pipe adapters are selected
by connection type and
actual pipe dimensions.
Check inside and outside
diameters before ordering.

CENTRAL VACUUM PIPE ADAPTER BUYING GUIDE
Choosing the Right Central Vacuum Pipe Adapter
Not all 2-inch piping systems use
the same actual dimensions.
Central vacuum tubing, plumbing
PVC and older proprietary piping
systems can require different
connection fittings.
Before ordering an adapter,
identify both pipe types and
measure the connections
you need to join.
01
Identify Older Pipe Dimensions
Some older central vacuum
systems used tubing sizes
or connection designs that
differ from modern standards.
Measure the existing pipe
and identify the manufacturer
when possible. The correct
adapter may allow you to
retain usable existing
tubing during an upgrade.
02
Understand Schedule 40 PVC Connections
Standard 2-inch Schedule 40
plumbing PVC generally has
different outside dimensions
than common 2-inch central
vacuum tubing. A purpose-made
transition adapter may be
required to connect these
materials. Confirm the
fitting's specifications
before purchasing.
03
Check Both Ends of the Adapter
An adapter must match the
dimensions and connection
styles of both components.
Check whether each end is
designed to fit inside
a pipe, over a pipe or
into another fitting.
Do not rely on nominal
pipe size alone.
