Central Vacuum VacPans & Automatic Dustpans

Adding a VacPan to Your Central Vacuum System

A central vacuum VacPan makes routine floor cleaning more convenient by providing a built-in collection point for swept debris. Before selecting a VacPan, consider the installation location, available cabinet space and access to your central vacuum piping and control wiring.

01 Choose the Best Installation Location

Kitchens, laundry rooms and other hard-floor areas are popular locations for VacPans. They're commonly installed in cabinet toe kicks where swept debris can be directed toward the inlet. Check the available space and installation clearance before purchasing.

02 Check Piping & Wiring Requirements

A VacPan typically requires a connection to the central vacuum piping system and compatible low-voltage control wiring to activate the power unit. Review the manufacturer's installation instructions and verify that the required connections can be made at your chosen location.

03 Consider New vs. Existing Construction

Installing a VacPan during new construction can make routing tubing and wiring easier. Retrofitting one into an existing home may also be possible, depending on access beneath or behind the cabinet and the location of nearby central vacuum piping.
