We carry genuine, brand name OEM hoses as well as universal fit replacement hoses for all models of central vacuums.
There are three major types of hoses:
Electric Dual-Voltage Hoses: These hoses have a three-way switch that will turn on the system's suction and can activate the electric powerhead too. There are two different ways to supply electricity to the power head through the hose and these methods are referred to as either a direct or pig tail connection.
Direct Connect Hoses have two pins that stick out from the wall
end of the hose as well as the split metal band on the hose necessary
for the low voltage connection.
Pig Tail Hoses have a power cord that is 8' long and splits off from the wall end of the hose and it is then plugged into a nearby electrical outlet. Many hoses can be converted from a pig tail to a direct connection depending
on your setup; we offer that option on most hoses at the time of purchase.
Low Voltage Hoses: These hoses have a simple on/off, two-position switch that will turn on the power unit. Typically this style of hose is used in cases where people have either bare floors or limited carpeting that is cleaned with a turbo carpet brush. Most of these hoses have a universal fit with a few exceptions, for example, Vacuflo Hoses have a unique button lock and two different fittings for the wall end of the hose.
Standard Hoses: These hoses do not have an on/off switch and have no electrical wiring in them. They simply activate the system when they're plugged in and will deactivate when taken out of the inlet valve. These hoses are perfect for garages, basements and other surfaces that don't have carpet and require a powerhead.
